The ’05 OG Gangsta is another atomically-compressed puerh tea brick from GPH. This mid-aged offering is in the Tobacco Class with evident root beer notes. There is no smoke to speak of and any bitterness is largely hidden behind wicked astringency that completely numbs the mouth.
OG Gangsta consists of chopped leaf spring material ranging in grade from 3-6 in size. It qualifies as Tobacco Class based on its rugged nature that is definitely not floral and with only light plum notes and aroma. The vanilla is definitely its greatest attribute and this should develop more under the right storage conditions. It could definitely prove a gut-buster for some.
GPE appeared on the scene in the late 90s, having some connection with famous Menghai lineage tea meistra Wang Xia. Some of their early items are offered under the bazhong wrapper.
