’14 Jade Mark

$11.40$64.26

A rare treasure in that it’s drinkable now and has only been getting better with age.

The ’14 Jade Mark is a Menghai recipe that tastes like a late April picking, though the insert states “early spring.”  There’s a real Lancang vibe going on here.  Along with a vanilla roast and d’anjou pear extravagance, JM possesses a noteworthy cheekiness and huigan.  The huigan is sticky sweet and the cheekiness is both sour and astringent.  Lot’s of sustained activity in the mouth.

This is the second purchase of Jade Mark, Jul ’22. Promising aging.  It’s upon the cusp of the ferment-y stage, cf its citrusy youth.  This has given rise to something of a Wild Jingmai and Grenouille lovechild.  It has a season-based dynamism that constantly keeps you on your toes, while maintaining Zhongcha’s signature gentility.  The qi is uplifting and optimistic.

One may want to play around with brewing times and temps for best results.
