Buttery smoothness and vanilla..

Jinglong Tea Industry Co., Ltd. was established in 2000, as a puerh tea research and development, production, processing, marketing and cultural dissemination group. The company’s original name was “Jinglong Old Tree Puer.”  In 2004, the company opened Jinglong Tea Factory in Yiwu proper and set up a product research and development department, focusing on production and processing of Yiwu ancient-tree (gushu) and arbor (qiaomu) tea. Jinglong TF selects from high-quality big tree arbor and wild sun-dried maocha.  Hand-processed and stone-pressed, inheriting the ancient traditional production technques, JLTF ensures that each puerh offering is natural and organic.

’05 Yiwu Prince

The ’05 Yiwu Prince stands in counterpoint to the Princess.  Storage on this is classically balanced bearing no signs of humidity in either taste or colour but quite obviously not subjected to bone dryness.  The Yiwu Prince is a Jinglong TF factory treasure.  The original name for this production is “Spring Tips” but it is anything but springy or tippy.  Thick texture and sweet taste of vanilla and touch of anise.  Jinglong, starting in the mid-90s but settling on their current name in 2000, specializes in Yiwu productions. Stored in Los Angeles since Oct ’20.  357g.  30g sample.

’10 Luoshuidong (LSD)

There’s a sweet, creamy nose on the ’10 LSD with a matching broth.  Think Cream of Wheat with a dash of vanilla, what some will associate with bourbon, though there’s no ferment-y attributes to speak of, having aged beyond that stage.  Goldilocks storage has facilitated proper transformation while preserving the underlying character.  There’s no humidity, if a bit dry, which the first summer in LA (’23) has been remedying. Smooth, luxuriant mouthfeel with a turbinado, dulce de leche huigan.  No qi to speak of.  With LSD it’s all about the rich sweet taste. . . the clear brown liquor being an added pleasure.  200g. 30g sample.

’05 Red Ribbon Mountain Melody

This is the only offering of the three with the designation “gushu”.  Butterscotch with a bit of bitterness not found in the other two.  Trademark Jinglong Yiwu character with seductive vanilla nose and accompanying taste. Embroidered red ribbon.  Relaxing qi and moderate storage.  In Los Angeles since ’21.  400g.  30g sample.
