Solid character matching the intensity of the brew colour. Overall deep tone with resinous wood and talcum notes, along with initial hints of vanilla and camphor. The wood and talcum resonate in the aftertaste for a spell giving rise to a velvety savory quality evocative of Mountain Sage and floral dhoop incense. The lingering sweetness and astringency stimulate salivation, lasting very long. Moderate sweetness, balancing bitterness. Completely hand crafted. From high altitude protected tea gardens in the Dai Autonomous region of Xishuangbanna. This is ecological, aka shengtai, ripe puerh, growing among other trees and over 80 types of insects at altitudes higher than 1500 meters. Kunming dry-stored and in Los Angeles since Mar ’21.
YPH is one of the old pre-monopoly brands going back to 1912. Originally located in Yi Bang, in 2000 the resurrected YPH brand resumed operations in Jinghong, Menghai County in the midst of industry restructuring that afforded private enterprise formation. YPH is a high-end brand using only shengtai materials with its listings included in the Puerh Yearbook.
