The Big Cabbage Puerh showcases a modern processing style without the grassy “fish food” chlorophyll taste. The cake shimmers with glossy whole leaves and features light compression, allowing you to break it apart easily by hand.

Big Cabbage emblem boldly displayed on wrapper, a theme emerging in the mid-naughts, certified organic Banzhang shengtai arbor.  Those cabbages tended toward smokiness, while this ’18 offering possesses no hint of smoke.

Aromas of mushroom and Meyer lemon rise from the dry leaf. Early infusions taste spry and sweet with minimal astringency, delivering satisfying density, luxurious mouthfeel, and lingering mushroom umami. The tea remains durable across infusions, sustaining sweetness and depth.  Flavor and depth has improved with time.

Crafted from high mountain wild material (as noted on the neipiao) and produced by Mme Du Qiong‑zhi, one of the Five Golden Flowers of Menghai Tea Factory.  Authentic character and refined craftsmanship. In Los Angeles since Jan ’23.
